Mixed Keys

Keys are a truly brilliant part of Solar System, but it can take some work to get your head around how to really make them fly. Here we collect a number of mixed Keys to use as reference and inspiration when your group needs create your own.

Relationship Keys

Key of the Urge

You only saw her once and you have to see her again, even if she's out of your league.

  • 1 xp – talk of your love
  • 2 xp – take steps to get closer to your love
  • 5 xp – catch a glimpse of her close by
  • BO – give up the chase

Key of Family Honour

  • 1 xp – talk of family honour
  • 3 xp – put family honour before your own good
  • BO – renounce your ties to the family

Key of the Ship

You are the master and commander of a ship, whether in sails in space or on the ocean.

  • 1 xp – the ship is sailing
  • 2 xp – the ship is in trouble
  • 5 xp – disaster threatens
  • BO – leave the ship with someone else in command

Characteristics Keys

Key of the Murderer

  • 1 xp – be in a position to murder someone
  • 2 xp – murder someone
  • 5 xp – murder someone more powerful
  • BO – let someone live at the last moment

Key of Making a Mess

Having your foot in your mouth can get you into a lot of trouble.

  • 1 xp – say something that comes out weird
  • 2 xp – say something that make people more hostile
  • 5 xp – a mess you made turns into a success
  • BO – act professionally throughout a situation

Key of the Limit of Words

You are a negotiator and a talker, but you know when to let your actions speak.

  • 1 xp – initiate talks with a rival or opponent
  • 2 xp – enter a social conflict
  • 5 xp – use physical force to win a conflict
  • BO – sit quiet througout a negotiation

Key of the Stormcrow

Chaos and fighting always seem to gather around you.

  • 1 xp – fighting breaks out near you
  • 2 xp – you are involved in fighting
  • 5 xp – you are involved in a fight on life and death
  • BO – keep your head down throughout a fight

Key of the Magpie

You want to get your hands on every shiny thing you find. Not necessarily keep it though.

  • 1 xp – acquire a new souvenir
  • 3 xp – acquire something more valuable than ever before
  • BO – let something precious lie where you found it

Key of Controversial Leadership

Your modern style of leadership does not always sit well with the older guard under your command.

  • 1 xp – give an order
  • 3 xp – enforce a controversial order
  • BO – step down from command

Key of the Adept of the Blade

You strive ever towards greater perfection with your skills with the blade.

  • 1xp – train your skills
  • 2xp – lose a duel
  • 5xp – win over a foe you have previously lost against
  • BO – refuse a challenge

Quest Keys

Key of the Placeholder

The old boss of the underworld might be missing, but you are here to keep his throne for him until he returns.

  • 1 xp – a member or members from the old network is present
  • 2 xp – put yourself in danger to hold the network together
  • 5 xp – make someone swear allegiance to the old boss
  • BO – turn your back on someone from the network

Key of the Kingmaker

  • 1xp – influence your King-to-be
  • 2xp – your King-to-be follows your advice over someone else's
  • 5xp – a rival of your King-to-be is put out of the competition
  • BO – abandon the loser

Key of the Power-Digger

  • 1xp – attempt to be liked by someone powerful
  • 2xp – influence someone powerful
  • 5xp – gain a close tie to someone powerful
  • BO – seize power for yourself
